A Kitchen Studio for Food Photography in Salt Lake City

From $85/hour · Full day (10 hours) $800

Shooting food in a home kitchen means working around clutter, bad light and someone else's schedule. The Flat is a fully furnished loft studio in downtown Salt Lake City built around a real, working kitchen: a concrete island with a fully functioning gas cooktop, a working oven and microwave, matte black cabinetry, east- and north-facing windows and a private balcony. Book it by the hour, cook on set and shoot.

What's in the kitchen

  • Fully functioning gas cooktop built into a concrete island, so you can cook, steam and sizzle on camera

  • Working oven and microwave to bake, roast and reheat between takes

  • Concrete island that works as a prep surface, a plating surface and a hero backdrop

  • Matte black cabinetry and backsplash for moody contrast behind bright dishes

  • Stainless fridge, bar stools and a concrete dining table for lifestyle and tablescape setups

  • Props and furniture included, so you can style without hauling everything in

The light

The Flat's windows face east and north, and it has its own balcony. Mornings bring bright, clean light, which is great for breakfast spreads, coffee and fresh produce. Afternoons soften into even, diffused light that flatters plated dishes and drinks.

More than a kitchen

The Flat is a complete furnished loft, so you can move from the kitchen to other sets without leaving the space: a bright living area with a boucle sofa and olive tree, a window nook, a curved plaster wall and staircase, a full bathroom with vessel sinks, and The Chamber Room, a dark, moody set with a black fireplace, leather chair and Persian rug that's made for rich, low-key food and drink imagery.
